Amharic text to speech that sounds like a person, not a robot

ፅሁፉን በራስዎ ድምፅ ያገኛሉ።

Paste Amharic text, press one button, and hear it read aloud in a voice trained on native Amharic speech. Not a general voice model with Amharic bolted on: the engine learned the rhythm, stress and gemination of Ge'ez-script text, so ቡና sounds like coffee and not like a guess. Type something below and hear it now, no account needed.

Why most Amharic TTS sounds wrong

General text-to-speech systems treat Amharic as one language among a hundred. They read each syllable but miss what native speakers hear first: where the stress falls, which consonants are doubled, and how a sentence breathes. The result is understandable and exhausting to listen to.

Kinbir's Amharic voice was trained on native speakers reading real broadcast-style text. It keeps the doubled consonants that change meaning, pauses where a reader would pause, and holds a pace that people can follow on a phone speaker.

In your own voice, not a stock one

After the demo, every voiceover is read in a voice you enrolled yourself: one short video of you reading a paragraph on camera. From then on, your scripts speak as you, in Amharic and in English, and the voice stays private to your account.

  • Numbers become words automatically, so 150 reads as መቶ ሃምሳ.
  • Very short sentences are joined so they do not sound stretched.
  • Pick the pace after listening: normal, slower or faster.
  • Fix a mispronounced word and re-record only that sentence.

Audio only, or the whole video

Take just the voiceover as a WAV file, or keep going: Kinbir finds footage for every line, adds captions and music, and cuts a finished MP4 sized for TikTok or YouTube. Each step is priced on its own, so you pay only for what you use.

Questions, answered

Can I try it without an account?

Yes. The demo on this page reads about 15 seconds of your own text, or a full sample, in the Kinbir voice. No signup, no card.

Do I have to clone my voice?

To make anything after the free demo, yes. Kinbir reads every script in a voice that was enrolled with on-camera consent, and the voice on your account is yours. Cloning takes one short video of you reading a paragraph, about two minutes end to end.

Which script does it read?

Ge'ez script (ፊደል). Paste Amharic text directly, or use the on-screen Amharic keyboard in the studio if your device has none. English text is read by the English mode of the same voice.

What does it cost?

Your first voiceovers are free, in your own voice, with no card. After that, plans are $19, $49 and $99 a month, and one balance of credits covers every step. A complete one-minute video, script to finished MP4, is about 10 credits. You see the exact cost before you commit.

How long are my files kept?

Finished voiceovers and videos stay ready to download for 48 hours. Your scripts are kept for good on your account. Your cloned voice stays until you delete it, which you can do in one click.

Your next video starts with your idea.
